Fred was born around a place called Ukadatjara. The country in this area is made up of sandhills, although the actual site of Ukadatjara is a rockhole formation. After rain, the sandhill country blossoms with a rich bloom of Tjurnburn Tjurnburn (ever-lasting flowers) that transforms the country as far as one can see. Tjurnburn Tjurnburn actually has its own Tjukurpa (Dreaming story). Also in Fred’s area are the nearby sites of Minduu, Punyutjara, Makaratjara, Wintaratjara, Puuyuu, Kurpa, Minduu Kulibah and Pirkatja.
